Web 2.0 is the shortened term for the World Wide Web. It is based on people being able to put different information together and sharing it for others to read on the web. Web 2.0 is more organized than regular websites. Web 2.0 creates opportunity for communicating with others while using the technology of the internet. Web 2.0 has been used as in blogs, wikis, and other Web services. I feel as if Web 2.0 is a generally easier way of communicating with people all around the world. Instead of using e-mail or snail mail, you can instant message someone on Facebook or video chat with them through the computer. Web 2.0 is definitely a positive invention and it will definitely upgrade even more in the future. Six examples of Web 2.0 are: Google, Youtube, Skype, Twitter, Facebook, and Wikispace. All can help students learn more by researching on Google and reading information; also visually learning by searching topics on Youtube. Skype allows students to interact with each other at home also with blogging. And Wikispace allows teachers and students to interact outside of the classroom with assignments and responses to each other’s papers. My choices in Bloom’s Taxonomy would fit in creating, evaluating, analyzing, applying, and understanding. All are key factors in using these programs or websites.
